Rev. Gloria Hughes
The Rev. Dr. Ken Lyon served for over 40 years as a pastoral leader in a variety of ministry settings including rural, small town, center city and large regional congregations. His passion is for the local church to thrive in ministry and effectiveness. For that to happen a spirit of generosity is foundational. That generosity has its roots in gratitude for the gift of Christ in our lives. “It is through the posture of gratitude that we find our truest expression of faithful living and serving. We become an expression of God's transforming work in us and through us as we allow generosity to become our way of life.”
Ken has and continues to serve in a variety of leadership roles, including congregational development and vitality, Board of Ordained Ministry, and the Board of the United Methodist Foundation of Western North Carolina. He holds degrees from High Point University (B.S.), Appalachian State University (M.A.), Duke University (M.Div.) and Emory University (D.Min.).
Now enjoying retirement, Ken and his wife, Lydia, live in High Point, NC.
